HR Workplace Investigator

As a Workplace Investigator you will be responsible for conducting workplace investigations on behalf of our clients. The workplace complaints vary from bullying, harassment, discrimination to other violations of Human Resource (HR) policies. Your role is to serve as an objective and unbiased investigator who can thoroughly investigate allegations and clearly articulate findings in written format as well as with the appropriate client representatives.
You will play an integral role in partnering with clients to determine the validity of complaints as well as generate and assist in the implementation of strategies to prevent reoccurrence and repair the workplace culture after the investigation is complete.

Responsibilities
Conduct confidential workplace investigations involving issues in areas such as harassment, sexual harassment, bullying, and discrimination.
Conduct interviews, gather and assess evidence, assess credibility and write reports of findings.
Build trusted relationships with clients and maintain strict confidentiality related to the client and the investigation.
Collaborate with clients' internal and external legal counsel when required.
Coordinate logistics and conduct workplace investigations from start to finish using ACTivate HR processes and templates.
Assist in identifying and providing post-investigation workplace remediation.
Deliver workplace investigation training and workplace investigation on-the-job training to clients.
Qualifications
Must already be or are eligible to become a licenced investigator in the Province of Alberta under the Security Services and Investigators Act.
8 - 10 years experience in human resources, labour relations, or another related field.
Minimum 5 years direct, recent experience in conducting workplace investigations.
Experience in unionized environments is an asset.
Experience in workplace culture restoration activities such as soft skill training, mediation, small group facilitation and leadership coaching is considered an asset.

This position does not reside in a traditional office environment and will allow the successful candidate to work from home, manage their own time and achieve their optimal work/life balance. Work at the client site is necessary intermittently.
This is a casual position, and the successful candidate will be assigned investigations on an as-needed basis.

Pay: $60.00-$80.00 per hour
