The Evergreens Foundation is actively searching for a dynamic and motivated (Casual) General Cook to join our team in Grande Cache, Alberta .

This position will be based at our beautiful Whispering Pines Lodge in Grande Cache .

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a ( Casual) General Cook who will be reporting to Chef de Partie and would be responsible for:

Preparing meals i.e., stocks, soups, salads, sauces, meats, starches, vegetables, proteins, and desserts.
Following prepared menus such as special diets and ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
Adhere to and enforce all appropriate workplace regulations, compliances, and legislation regarding health and safety, food preparation standards, and company policies and procedures.
Ensure all kitchen equipment and tools are being used safely and according to provided direction.
Ensure food is handled, stored, and cooked according to health and safety standards, Safe Food Handling and regulated temperature guidelines.
Be continually aware of, and maintain, the highest standards of professionalism by following the company dress code and/or wearing the company uniform.
Ensure a clean and safe working environment, and actively participate in health and safety initiatives.
Protect the health and safety of others by adopting safe work practices and reporting unsafe conditions immediately.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR/QUALIFICATIONS

2 years of experience with volume food preparation and the ability to manage conflicting demands.
Relevant education/equivalent experience with an ability to work individually as well as part of a team.
Strong time management and communication skills along with an empathetic demeanor.
Experience in senior housing, healthcare, and/or the hospitality industry would be an asset.
