Specializing in maintenance free decks and fences. Vinyl Guys has been helping clients ditch the maintenance by creating beautiful outdoor living spaces since 2009.

We are a family company. Looking to expand our team of rockstars.

We are looking for an individual with at least 3 years of experience in carpentry and/or labouring. Someone who has a basic understanding of carpentry related tasks and tools.

The ideal candidate will have a combination of education and experience and possess a passion for this career path. This is a year round position with winter work available.

The ideal candidate will also be eligible for our SUB program to assist with income in the winter months which pays 80% of the regular salary from the summer season in the winter season.

The candidate must be able to provide a good reference from former employers.

The candidate must be able to relocate to Saskatoon, Sk.

Required Experience

Minimum 2 years in residential or commercial construction. Showing a desire to learn and grow in a related role. Must be able to prove basic knowledge of building materials and trade tools. Must have willingness to learn combined with a desire to continually improve.
Proven track record of reliability and communication.
Basic knowledge of hand & power tools.
Class 5 license.
Criminal Record check required.

Preferred

1-2 years of construction experience. Hand & power tool experience with basic understanding of building materials & safety protocols.

Fall protection, SCOT and whimis certified.

The ideal candidate possesses the following skills :

-Strong work ethic with ability to work as a team to complete projects on time and on budget. Main skills and role will be laborer and/or installer. Ability to learn and contribute to team, training and safety are a must.

-Some knowledge and understanding of residential framing and construction.

- Some experience with vinyl decking, deck construction, railing installations and fence construction.

-Ability to work Unsupervised and contribute to the team and overall success .

-Able to follow directions and complete tasks efficiently to the company standard.

-Able to communicate effectively and positively with clients and team members.

-Able to produce work and communicate details to project foreman.

-Safe and efficient operation of hand tools, fall protection and specialty tools.

-Ability to participate in company meetings, including job tracking, safety and production meetings

What you will be doing while working with us:

-Installing maintenance free decking, fencing and railings.

-Laying out piles.

-Working as part of installation team to achieve targets established by foreman and project manager.

-Executing scopes of work dictated by project foreman and project manager.

-Contributing within a crew of 2-4 people.

-Effectively communicating with all stakeholders including clients, owner, other supervisors, suppliers.

-operating power equipment.

-maintaining a safe, clean and organized workspace.

- Job tracking and time management.

-Understand and achieve production targets.

-Installing railing systems.

-Training on new products and installation techniques.

-Job organization and communicating up and down the chain of command .

-Take offs

-Training on communication and other soft skills

-Installing low voltage lighting systems.

-Christmas lighting installation and other construction work in the winter months.

Hours of work:

Monday to Friday for a minimum of 8-10 hrs per day.

Very minimal weekend work in the summertime. Only when rainy conditions persist and weekends are the only option to catch up.

We generally perform our full time construction operations from March 1st to Jan 1st.

Jan & Feb are typically slower but this is where we get prepped for next season while on SUB program
