Position Overview:

The Warehouse Pick and Pack Labourer is an integral part of the warehouse team, responsible for efficiently picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipments. This role requires strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate for this position is reliable, organized, and committed to ensuring accurate and timely order fulfilment.

Responsibilities:
Order Picking and Packing:
Retrieve items from designated locations in the warehouse based on order sheets or electronic picking systems
Ensure accuracy in item selection, quantity, and quality while adhering to established standards and procedures
Pack orders securely and efficiently, considering proper packaging materials, labelling, and documentation

2. Inventory Management:
Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by conducting regular stock counts and reporting discrepancies
Notify supervisors of low stock levels to ensure timely replenishment
Follow inventory management protocols to prevent errors, stockouts and overstocks

3. Quality Control:
Inspect products for damages, defects, or incorrect labelling before packing or shipping
Follow quality control guidelines to ensure only high-quality products are dispatched
Report any issues or concerns regarding product quality or discrepancies to supervisors

4. Safety and Compliance:
Comply with al safety guidelines, including proper handling of equipment, materials and hazardous substances
Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and maintain a clean and organized work area
Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly to the appropriate personnel

5. Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with other team members and departments to facilitate efficient order fulfilment and resolve any order-related issues
Communicate effective with supervisors regarding any challenges, concerns, or suggestions for process improvement
Assist in training and mentoring new employees as needed

6. Warehouse Maintenance:
Weekly cleaning of the warehouse and office facility as required
Equipment cleaning and maintenance checks

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Prior experience in a warehouse or distribution centre environment is preferred but not mandatory
Physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift heavy objects (minimum of 40-50 lbs), and stand for extended periods
Ability to work in hot and cold environments
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality
Familiarity with inventory management systems or the ability to learn such systems quickly
Basic math skills to count, sort, and verify quantities
Effective time management skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong work ethic, reliability and a commitment to teamwork
Positive attitude and leadership capabilities
