Position Summary
We're seeking an experienced and motivated Party Chief to lead field survey operations. This hybrid role combines office and fieldwork, ideal for those who enjoy a dynamic work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct field data collection and boundary computations
Analyze data and assist with plan preparation
Maintain clear and accurate field notes
Perform site measurements for subdivisions, homes, condominiums, RPRs, and topographic surveys
Carry out residential and commercial construction layout
Use GNSS and conventional surveying tools
Lift and carry up to 50 lbs; walk long distances on varied terrain
Work outdoors in all weather conditions
Locate and assess legal survey evidence in the field
Communicate effectively and respectfully with landowners regarding access and property concerns
Maintain survey equipment and ensure field supply readiness
Follow company Health & Safety policies
Occasional travel within Alberta may be required
Qualifications
Diploma in Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology, or equivalent required
Minimum 3 years' experience in legal and construction surveying
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Safety certifications (or willingness to obtain)
Experience with MicroSurvey or AutoCAD is an asset
Strong understanding of total stations, GNSS, and leveling instruments
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Self-motivated, accountable, and passionate about working outdoors
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $24.98-$40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 - 44 per week
Education:
Secondary School (preferred)
Experience:
Legal and construction surveying: 3 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
Driving Licence (required)
