We are looking for a Journeyman HVAC/Refrigeration Technician in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Who can perform installations, maintenance, and repairs on heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in both commercial and industrial settings. Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC/R system issues to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.

Job Summary
Ability to work alone, and or in a team environment.
Install air conditioning, heating, and related equipment and components.
Overhaul and service air conditioning, heating units and systems.
Repair, replace and adjust worn or broken parts on condensers, compressors, and pumps.
Repair and adjust valves, piping connections, fittings, and couplings.
Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with heating and air conditioning units and systems.
Install motors, thermostats, and humidistats.

Primary Role & Responsibilities
Strong verbal communication skills, ability to explain complex HVAC issues with clients in a way they understand.
Critical-thinker, problem-solver.
Must be punctual and adhere to a daily/weekly schedule.
Perform consultations with client & Letcar management.
Determine clients needs and discuss all solution methods.
Install new heating, cooling, and ventilation systems.
Inspect current HVAC systems for effectiveness and safety.
Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems to increase longevity.
Conduct performance tests with specialized tools.
Troubleshoot current HVAC system issues.
Repair damaged HVAC systems.
Maintain accurate inventory of all equipment and HVAC resources.
Must be able to work outside under adverse conditions.
Must be comfortable with working at heights.
Must be able to maintain high level of safe work practices at all times

Work Environment:
The employee may frequently be exposed to outside weather conditions. The work environment usually has a moderate to loud noise level. You may be asked or required to work after regular business hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Education & Experience:
Journeyman Refrigeration Trade Certification or 4th year registered apprentice may be considered depending on experience.
Gas Ticket "A" or "B" Ticket an asset.
College Diploma/Certification preferred.
Certification through the Environmental Protection Agency to handle refrigerants required.
3+ years experience within an Industrial or Commercial Construction Projects.
Valid Class 5 Driver's License and clean drivers abstract required.
Valid CSTS.
Basic computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook an asset.
Previous oil sands site experience will be considered an asset.
