Specific Responsibilities:
Coordinate and execute noxious/prohibited invasive plant mitigation program
Identifying invasive plants accurately and determining the most appropriate herbicide for effective control
Applying herbicides safely and effectively, following all label instructions and applicable laws and regulations
Operating side-by-side sprayers, backpack sprayers, and other equipment necessary for invasive plant control
Ensuring crew members follow all safety protocols and guidelines, including proper handling of all chemicals
Coordinating with crew members to plan and schedule work days, including assigning tasks and delegating responsibilities as appropriate
Creating and maintaining accurate records of herbicide use and safety paperwork and reporting any incidents or issues to supervisors as necessary
Communicating effectively with clients, team members, and supervisors, providing updates on project status and addressing any concerns or questions
Conducting regular inspections of equipment and ensuring it is properly maintained and in good working order
Driving a truck and trailer loaded with side-by-side sprayers and other equipment, adhering to all traffic laws and safety guidelines

Job Type / Category:
This is an in person supervisor certified pesticide applicator-labour job working a 5&2 shift (Monday-Friday) focusing on invasive plant mitigation. Education/certification in environmental science, renewable resource management, conservation, botany, plant-identification, horticulture, or similar subject matter
Prior construction or labour experience is considered an asset
Strong vegetation identification skills is an asset - additional training will be provided
First Aid, WHMIS, TDG, PSTS or CSTS, LSE
