Job description

Cedar Strong Prevention and Intervention Society is looking to fill a Full-Time Sexual Assault Services Coordinator position.

JOB PROFILE

The Sexual Assault Services Coordinator will work in the Chilliwack area. This person will work as a member of the Cedar Strong Prevention and Intervention Society team and will coordinate with other organizations and agencies in the region to increase education, awareness and collaboration in establishing pathways to addressing Sexual Violence in the Chilliwack area .

PURPOSE

The Sexual Assault Services Coordinator will work with the Fraser-East Sexual Assault Care Team to bring awareness, education, support, and advocacy to victims of sexual violence, survivors, and communities, aligning our work with the Qwí:qwelstóm Sexual Violence Response Team in our surrounding Indigenous communities in the Fraser East communities and in Chilliwack.

Working from the Strategic Plan you will fulfil priorities that support sexual violence victims in accessing localized sexual assault services in the Chilliwack area.

This position will develop, implement, and execute the following:

1. Work in partnership with the Fraser-East Sexual Assault Advisory Committee and relevant partners in Chilliwack to develop priorities in responding to victims of sexual violence.

2. Develop processes and protocols for quicker and localized response time for women who are victims of sexual violence in the region and if a woman chooses to undergo a forensic exam that processes are in place to support her through this

3. Sexual violence victims will have improved access to health, justice, and community support services

4. Sexual violence victims will be better served by a coordinated and cross-sector response in their local community

5. Reporting by sexual violence victims will be increased due to stronger links between health, justice, and community service providers in their local community

6. Community and stakeholder education and awareness

7. Access to the program will be done through the 24/7 Transition House and will be the main hub for this service

Technical skills / Education:

o Bachelor's degree in social work/ human services or related field or relevant education/ experience, Understanding of family dynamics, abuse and oppression.

Experience :

o Ability to conduct research and report writing is mandatory along with ability to facilitate workshops and small groups

o Knowledge of software systems such as Word, Excel and Canva is required

o This job involves psychological and mental demands in relation to developing service protocol to victims of sexual assault.
