Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview Experience

  • Minimum of one-year prior experience as a Neurosurgical Monitoring Technician performing intraoperative monitoring is required.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Relevant Bachelor's degree from a recognized University is required.
  • Bachelor of Science or Similar Life Sciences degree preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience as recognized by the Centre may be considered.
  • Registered Electrophysiology Technologist (e.g., EEG, EMG, etc.) preferred.
  • Certified by the American Board of Registered Electrodiagnostic Technicians (ABRET) in Neuro Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM), required.
  • The ability and initiative to self-teach is essential.
  • In addition, the incumbent must attend relevant continuing education programs in operative monitoring, as well as in other related neurodiagnostic areas, on an ongoing basis and as requested by the Neurophysiologist.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • BSc degree or equivalent required. CNIM certified by the ABRET required.
  • Registered Electrophysiology Technologist (e.g., EEG, EMG, etc.) and certified by the applicable certifying body, preferred.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to function proficiently in the face-paced environment of the OR.
