YOUR FAVORITE THING TO drive, IS A big idea.

Location: Edmonton, Kingsway

When it comes to leading people, you're the whole package - strategist, mentor, and the loudest cheerleader at the finish line. As our Manager, Driver Education, you will champion a wide range of driver training initiatives, support a committed team of instructors, and play a vital role in enhancing road safety across Alberta. Your leadership will help shape safer drivers and contribute to building safer communities throughout the province. Together, we'll make a meaningful difference-one confident driver at a time.

WHAT MOVES YOU

  • You still remember the thrill of earning your licence - and you want every new driver to feel that same freedom.
  • You love collaborating and get the big picture. You can help communicate a vision with clarity and purpose, to help motivate others.
  • Numbers rev your engine as much as people do - you balance creative solutions with solid analytics.
  • You're equal parts diplomat, negotiator, and facilitator, steering through any roadblocks with calm confidence.
  • Learning isn't just a pit stop; it's the whole journey. You push yourself (and your team) to keep getting better.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Own day-to-day operations of the driver education programs, ensuring smooth delivery across classroom and in-vehicle sessions.
  • Set clear goals and drive achievement of regional revenue and capacity targets.
  • Develop, manage, and optimize budgets to support program growth and sustainability.
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain talented instructors who embody our values and high standards.
  • Design and lead ongoing instructor training and development to elevate teaching quality and engagement.
  • Monitor instructor performance through regular coaching, feedback, and evaluations.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote programs and increase reach.
  • Innovate by launching new initiatives and continuously improving the driver education experience.
  • Address student and family concerns promptly with empathy and effective solutions.
  • Foster a culture of trust, learning, and career growth within the team.
  • Support staff development through mentorship and career planning.

WHAT YOU'VE DONE

  • You have a university degree or post-secondary diploma in a related discipline (or equivalent combo of education and experience).
  • You have a minimum of 5 years in management or supervision within a service environment.
  • You ideally have knowledge of Driver Education programs and the regulatory requirements of driver training.
  • Bonus points if you hold an Alberta Driving Instructor licence (or have teaching credentials).

WHAT YOU'LL GET

  • Competitive Salary: We value your experience and contributions.
  • Flexible, employer-paid benefits that work for you.
  • Employer-paid retirement savings program.
  • Great discounts on AMA products and services.
  • Unlimited learning and development to keep your career moving forward.
  • Paid vacation and a personal "Me Day" to recharge.
