Application Support / Data Warehouse Developer - Permanent - Calgary.

Our client is a mid-sized oil and gas-related business located in Calgary, Alberta. They have approximately 200+ users, most of whom are in Calgary and work from the Calgary office. We are in search of a Data Warehouse Developer capable of supporting internal applications, writing Power BI reports, and supporting Dynamics 365 applications. The developer must have strong SQL Server, SQL OLAP skills along with good knowledge of C#, Python and Dax.

Technological background (as per below) is important but equally important with this hire is one's personality, character, eagerness, adaptability, initiative, personal drive and team fit / collaboration skills.

MUST-HAVE Technical Skills:

  • MUST Have strong communication and English Speaking abilities
  • 7+ years of experience developing reports in Power BI
  • Application support of Dynamics 365 suite.
  • Strong development skills in SQL, development of OLAP cubes, and strong overall database / data warehousing skills.
  • Experience with GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, Oracle, SQL Server, SSRS, SSAS
  • Proficiency in .NET, C#, C++, and scripting (PowerShell or VBScript)
  • Python development language
  • Familiarity with OWASP best practices and cybersecurity principles
  • Ability to participate in On-Call support rotation

Strong Nice-to-Have's:

  • DAX development experience

Duties:

  • Provide day-to-day support for proprietary and third-party applications
  • Develop and maintain documentation for system workflows, SOPs, and support procedures
  • Deliver end-user training as needed
  • Collaborate with business units to gather requirements and implement solutions
  • Manage data integrations, including Dynamics 365, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports
  • Ensure application security and compliance with IT and SOX policies
  • Participate in application upgrades, patching, and testing
  • Support incident response and change management processes
  • Help manage One Lake, Fabric integrations

Projects on the Go:

  • Support API integrations for Open Invoice
  • Help with Dynamics 365 data refreshes, upgrades, troubleshooting, and modifying user profiles
  • Support in-house (PVR) production volume reporting - SQL database backend
  • Support Microsoft OneLake, Fabric, Power BI ecosystem
  • Troubleshoot legacy proprietary applications as needed
  • Help with SOX controls
