Product Developer

As a product developer at Pehr, you are an innovative and passionate creative thought leader. Your focus is always to create products which capture the "beauty, magic and simplicity of childhood" You are responsible for the full product development cycle-from design to sample development all the way to final sample approval.

You thrive on developing thoughtful, high-quality products which strive to exceed both customer expectations and company standards.You collaborate effectively with production and technical teams to ensure successful execution of all product development plans, and you expertly strike a balance between timeless design and high quality product while always working within the established cost structures.

Role Detail:

  • You combine the learnings of historical data with your product design & development expertise, working in collaboration with the Design team to build the annual/quarterly product launch proposals for your respective product categories.
  • You work closely with planning team to ensure that you are building plans for product which align to cost & margin targets
  • Present proposals to key stakeholders and prepare sourcing packages for new development ideas
  • You review & align on the detailed product specifications provided in Tech Packs, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in manufacturing processes.
  • You create and manage Bill of Materials (BOM) for each style to optimize production accuracy and streamline material sourcing ordering
  • You manage the full development cycle within master calendar ensuring all critical dates leading up to and including PP sample approval are achieved
  • You closely collaborate and communicate with Agent/Factories to manage the development process, negotiate pricing, and troubleshoot all problems as they arise
  • You collaborate with production team to ensure style construction details, styling intent and proportions align with production capabilities
  • You ensure the timely 'handover' of PP approved products to the production team that meet all compliance standards and include final cost and BOM sign off for all trims, branding, packaging.
  • You ensure accurate and informative product knowledge information is communicated through all touch points: product packaging, labelling, marketing/sales copy and collateral
  • You partner with the technical team to review and approve sample construction, ensuring design updates are implemented throughout the full lifespan of the product. You offer construction feedback and recommend alternatives when technical challenges arise
  • Review TOP production samples against the approved PP samples and continually reflect on customer care feedback
  • Maintain product details on PLM system and launch calendars
  • You are constantly analyzing customer feedback and industry trends to inform future product design decisions.
  • You address any post launch areas of concern- partnering with the technical & production teams you work to solve any quality or production challenges to ensure the success of all products throughout their lifespan
