Our real estate client is seeking a Operations Manager to oversee operations across a prestigious one-million-square-foot portfolio in downtown Toronto.

This pivotal role combines team leadership, capital project execution, and sustainable operations management. The ideal candidate will be a strategic, hands-on professional with a proven ability to drive operational excellence while delivering long-term value and performance across assets.

This is an on-site position in Downtown Toronto.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all technical systems including mechanical, electrical, and life safety components.
  • Drive preventive maintenance programs and sustainability initiatives to reduce energy consumption and improve building performance.
  • Manage utility tracking and implement energy conservation measures.
  • Lead planning and execution of capital projects, ensuring timeliness, quality, and budget adherence.
  • Collaborate with the Property Manager to develop and manage capital plans and budgets.
  • Administer tenders, contracts, and service agreements to optimize service delivery.
  • Ensure all life safety systems and compliance documentation are current and effectively implemented.
  • Work with security and safety teams to maintain emergency and risk management protocols.
  • Build strong relationships with tenants, addressing concerns with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with service providers and consultants to align with sustainability and operational goals.
  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary operations team to ensure high performance and collaboration.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial property operations with leadership experience.
  • Post-secondary education in engineering, facility management, or a related discipline.
  • P.Eng designation is an asset but not required.
  • Demonstrated success managing capital projects and operational budgets.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Yardi, and building automation systems.
