Our client, one of Ontario's largest and most established independent brokerages, is seeking a dynamic Commercial Account Executive to service and market a diverse and growing portfolio of commercial insurance accounts.

This role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with principals, account associates, insurance underwriters, and clients, providing tailored insurance solutions while fostering long-term partnerships. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in negotiating coverages, managing renewals, and developing risk management strategies to enhance client protection.

The Job!

  • Manage a book of business that includes medium to large commercial insurance accounts.
  • Negotiate coverages, rates, and premiums with insurance underwriters and clients.
  • Prepare and update new business and renewal submissions, ensuring optimal market placement.
  • Conduct annual renewal reviews and client meetings, including claims history assessments.
  • Analyze clients' operations to identify risks and recommend appropriate insurance solutions.
  • Develop risk management strategies to minimize exposures and enhance existing coverage.
  • Oversee accounts receivable for assigned clients.
  • Assist in claims negotiations and settlements in collaboration with the claims department.
  • Review inspection reports and follow up on outstanding recommendations.
  • Support additional duties and projects as needed.

What You Bring

  • RIBO License.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a commercial lines department at an insurance brokerage or insurance company.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Actively pursuing CAIB, CIP, and/or CRM designations.
  • Completed CAIB, CIP, and/or CRM designations.
  • Familiarity with The Agency Manager (TAM).
  • Working knowledge of construction insurance.
  • Experience operating or managing a business.
  • Understanding of project-specific construction insurance.
