Meroka is on a mission to restore humanity in healthcare. We partner with independent physicians across the US to help their practices grow with clarity, dignity, and patient-first values-free from the pressures of private equity or profit-at-all-costs models.
We're looking for a Practice Partnerships Strategist to help more physicians stay independent-by finding the right clinics, building high-trust relationships, and crafting creative deal structures that work for everyone involved. You'll shape the future of our partnerships, from pipeline through transaction to integration.
This is a builder role, not a back-office one. You'll be out in the world developing strategy, running point on deals, and making Meroka's mission real in clinics across the country.
Who We Are
Meroka is building the future of independent medicine in the United States. We provide operations, finance, tech, and strategic support to physician-owned practices-helping them grow sustainably and with soul. This is in addition to support for physicians transitioning ownership to the employees of the business.
We believe in clear communication, practical systems, thoughtful design, and long-term thinking. Our tone is warm, grounded, and confident-but never corporate or clinical.
This Role Is Not for You If
- You default to "no" in diligence instead of seeking creative paths forward
- You care more about spreadsheets than people
- You want someone else to set the strategy
- You're not excited by messy, ambiguous deals
- You shy away from building trust in emotionally complex situations
- You're allergic to pitching new ideas, or hesitant to explore unusual structures
- You think healthcare is just a business, not a calling
What You'll Do
- Hustle to expand our reach to mission-aligned physician practices-collaborating with marketing to generate pipeline and executing outbound strategies with energy
- Be the translator of Meroka's offering-adapting our messaging to resonate with potential partners and explaining our approach with clarity and confidence
- Build relationships from a place of curiosity and care-getting to the root of each practice's challenges and aligning on how Meroka can help
- Own and lead due diligence on potential partner practices (financial, operational, legal)-knowing when to zoom in on risk and when to step back and see the big picture
- Run point on deals from start to finish-coordinating across internal teams, driving timelines, and ensuring smooth collaboration
- Model potential partnership upside and risk in concise, strategic memos-bringing rigor to your insights and confidence to your recommendations
- Surface insights from your frontline work to help product, engineering, and leadership continuously improve our offering
- Close partnerships and ensure a smooth handoff to our Enablement team for onboarding and integration
- Grow a team to do all of the above at scale-mentoring and leading others who care deeply about the work
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Has 4-5 years of experience owning transactions where trust-building and relationship management were essential to the outcome
- Has taken deals from lead to close-and loves the full arc of the process
- Can balance strategy and execution-you're just as happy writing a memo as you are cold-calling a founder
- Writes clearly, thinks in systems, and presents ideas visually
- Can model upside, understand risk, and still lead with empathy
- Thrives in ambiguity and uses creativity to solve hard problems
- Is comfortable with AI and tech tools, using them to move faster and smarter
- Listens deeply, navigates emotional complexity with tact, and builds real trust
- Is based in Montreal and able to work in-office 3-4 days a week
- Brings cultural sensitivity and emotional intelligence to every interaction
- Curiosity, openness to learning and exploring new, complex models
What We Offer
- Competitive Compensation, depending on experience
- Health benefits, retirement savings matching, and unlimited vacation
- A mission-driven, purpose-led role with creative freedom
- Ownership of your area: this is not a siloed role
- A fast-moving, kind, and ambitious team that values thoughtful, useful work
- Opportunities to grow into a larger leadership role across partnerships and operations
Additional Notes
- This role includes frequent travel across the U.S. for practice site visits, trust-building with potential partners, and Meroka team collaborations. Travel will be supported and coordinated by our internal team.

Why This Matters
Healthcare should feel human. It should be led by the people who care for others-not by spreadsheets or shareholders. If you're looking to use your creativity to build something that matters-and make it seen, heard, and felt-you'll find purpose here.
