Sinai Health is looking for an experienced Sonographer to support our Ontario Fetal Centre Department at our Mount Sinai Hospital Campus.

About our unit
This specialized clinic-style unit is a part of Mount Sinai Hospital with two convenient sites at 700 and 600 University Avenue that run Monday to Friday. The program is a comprehensive service, dedicated to enhancing the well-being of both the mother and the fetus. We offer a range of services, including fetal ultrasound, assessment, early detection, in-utero therapy, and treatment. Collaborating with SickKids, our program delivers expert care in addressing fetal anomalies and in-utero surgical procedures.

Our primary focus is on the early identification of various conditions, such as preterm birth, fetal anomalies, placental health issues, and infectious diseases. Through timely surgical consultations and interventions, we aim to improve the long-term health outcomes for neonates.

In this role you will:

Perform obstetrical/fetal imaging procedures with the desire to expand skills i.e. fetal cardiology
Operate, troubleshoot and ensure ultrasound, medical imaging and ancillary equipment are performing in an effective and efficient manner
Prepare written and electronic reports required to document all procedures and test results
Participate in teaching, educational, research, and safety and quality improvement programs/activities
Perform other related patient care responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care
Perform cross-functional/site responsibilities as assigned as per departmental needs
Scheduled hours of work is subject to change, dependent on departmental needs
Perform other duties consistent with the job classification, as required
Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

Mandatory

Completion of an accredited degree/post diploma Ultrasound program, or recognized equivalent preferred.
Registered with Sonography Canada for Registered Diagnostic Ultrasound
Completion of a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification
Registered with Canadian Association of Registered Diagnostic Ultrasound Professionals (CARDUP)
Registered with College of Medical Radiation & Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
Discipline/Credentials must include Abdomen (AB) and Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB)
Active enrolment or completion of a recognized post diploma Ultrasound program, or recognized equivalent
1 year recent related experience
Demonstrated maintenance of Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits
Maintain clinical skills in various modalities required by position
Fulfill certification requirements and maintain credentials as required by the department i.e. Nuchal Translucency

Preferred

Registered with American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers (ARDMS)
Experience and specialty training in performing ultrasounds of the hearts in fetuses
Experience in the following modalities: vascular, neurosonography and fetal assessment or demonstrated willingness to learn
Proficient use of Astraia Electronic Medical Records
Previous experience working in a fast past clinic environment
Experience orientating/teaching new staff members

Demonstrated ability to train in a variety of ultrasound related examinations, procedures, equipment
