Project Estimator

Job Location: Edmonton, AB

Contract Length: 1 year

Work Hours: 7:30am to 4:00pm daily (excluding weekends and statutory holidays) Overtime is not applicable.

Spirit Omega Inc. is seeking a Project Estimator on behalf of our client to support high-voltage transmission projects. The successful candidate will develop cost estimates, perform quantity take-offs, review drawings and specifications, and support project budgeting and execution.

• Prepare conceptual, preliminary, and detailed cost estimates for transmission and substation projects.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
• Complete quantity take-offs and determine labour, equipment, and material requirements.
• Identify project risks, assumptions, contingencies, and cost drivers.
• Support budgeting, business cases, and contractor estimate reviews.
• Maintain estimating databases and Basis of Estimate documentation.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Construction, and Project Management teams.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of estimating experience in construction, utilities, transmission, or heavy civil projects.
• High-voltage transmission and substation estimating experience is an asset.
• P.Eng., C.E.T., or equivalent designation is an asset.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License.

• CSTS (Construction Safety Training System) certification, or equivalent.
