Our Transmission group is currently looking to add a Fleet Data Analyst to our growing team, based in Winnipeg, MB.

Reporting to the Fleet Business Manager (Transmission), we are seeking an analytically driven and detail-oriented professional to provide the analysis, reporting, and administrative support needed to manage Valard's fleet and equipment effectively. This role turns fleet data from JDE, mVolts, MFiles, and other systems into the insights, dashboards, and reports needed for decisions on utilization, cost control, compliance, and fleet planning, while also supporting day-to-day fleet administration tasks that keep the department running.

Duties and Responsibilities

Data & Analytics

  • Extract, clean, and consolidate fleet data from JDE, mVolts, MFiles, and other source systems to support the Fleet Business Manager's reporting and decision-making
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports on fleet utilization, maintenance costs, downtime, work order trends, and unit lifecycle
  • Track and analyze fleet unit certifications, flagging expirations and patterns before they become operational issues
  • Monitor purchase order and work order data to surface cost trends, vendor performance, and process bottlenecks for review
  • Prepare analysis and supporting materials for the Fleet Business Manager's use within the Fleet department
  • Develop and maintain Excel models and Power BI dashboards to replace or supplement existing manual spreadsheets

Fleet Administration

  • Generate and close work orders in JDE; create purchase orders and perform related receiving functions
  • Scan and add completed work orders to the Fleet MFiles vault or current database
  • Review unit binders as units come into the shop to ensure documentation is complete and current
  • Issue fuel cards as required
  • Receive and coordinate distribution of regulatory documents including annual vehicle insurance/pink cards, IFTA/Prorate documentation, and annual permits
  • Create mechanic personnel timesheets in mVolts
  • Work closely with the Shop Supervisor to ensure all relevant Fleet documents, administrative tasks, and compliance items are managed carefully

Requirements

  • Post-Secondary education in Business, Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 3 years of experience in a data analyst, business analyst, or analytically focused administrative role
    • an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered
  • Advanced Excel skills to build scalable, reusable models (including advanced functions such as pivot tables, lookups, Power Query, and formulas)
  • Experience with visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau,etc.)
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office and Adobe Acrobat
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate raw data into clear insights for non-technical audiences

Preferred Skills / Qualifications

  • Fleet, equipment, or construction industry background
  • Experience with JDE or similar ERP platforms
  • Certifications in Power BI, SQL, or data analytics (e.g., Microsoft DA-100/PL-300, Google Data Analytics)
