Directly responsible to Shift Supervisor. Functionally responsible for operating the scrap saw efficiently and discarding extrusion into scrap bins. The team member can also be required (if they are qualified) to use a counter-balance for discarding material into scrap trailer. If required, the team member will also assist at the production saw following specifications outlined in the work order. Ensure that a safe working environment is maintained at all times. This will be done by following Company policies and procedures. We believe that every Employee is responsible to act safely and to model good safety practices.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of the Scrap Saw Operator are detailed below, but not limited to the following:
Saw Operation
- Verify material has a scrap label before proceeding to cut material.
- Operate the saw in an effective and cost efficient manner while safety standards.
- Responsible for reporting equipment malfunctions.
- Co-ordinate material flow with the shift Supervisor and Forklift driver
- Comply with all quality related policies, procedures and system requirements.
- Licensed, certified forklift drivers, assessed and permitted to operate forklift by ALMAG only, to assist with disposing scrap
- All other activities as assigned
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience on Counterbalance with a valid license
Technical Skills/Competence
- 1-2 years in an industrial environment, knowledge of machinery and ability to read drawings an asset. Willing to train.
