THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Wood Material Consolidator is responsible for collecting finished material from the staging area, sorting, and consolidating orders to ensure our Wood Product Assemblers are assembling finished wood products in a thorough and timely manner. They are required to ensure quality standards of products while adhering to Health & Safety and Tayco policies on a consistent basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collects finished material from staging area and machines within the Wood department.
  • Preps finished goods for shipping in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) ensuring timely quality delivery.
  • Stages products for wipe down.
  • Reorders items that have defects and do not achieve Tayco quality standards.
  • Consolidates orders for shipping in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Communicates with Packaging Production Coordinator and Wood Production Coordinator to notify that finished wood product is completed in a timely manner.
  • Complies with all company health and safety policies and procedures at all times. Without limitation, wears Personal Protective Equipment at all times in accordance with Tayco's policies.
  • Maintains a clean and well-organized work area; works in conjunction with afternoon shift employees to do so.
  • Provides SOP process familiarization and orientation.
  • Works overtime as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned from time to time at the discretion of management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Recommended exposure to a manufacturing environment.
  • Is able to operate hand tools (drills, saw, pneumatic guns, etc.). Will be required to cross train in the Cabinetry Department.
  • Is able to understand, speak, read and write English. Must be able to understand verbal and written work instructions, which are typically routine, as accuracy and attention to detail is necessary. In addition, must be able to speak, read and understand health and safety procedures, document work, train others, problem solve in teams, learn new work processes and participate in continuous learning and weekly team meetings
  • Is able to work independently or as a part of a team.
  • Complies with all company health and safety policies and procedures at all times. Wears Personal Protective Equipment at all times in accordance with Tayco's policies.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and good housekeeping as per Health and Safety Standards.
  • Is able to lift materials up to 50 pounds and to carry, move, manipulate and/or position them and to move, bend, twist or maintaining awkward body positions while performing work.

  • Pay Rate: $21.80 per hour +$1.50/hour shift premium for Afternoon Shift (when working 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.)
