Peter Lucas Project Management invests in people, community, and cutting-edge technology to provide gold standard project delivery. We are currently looking for a Structural Engineer to join our team.
The Structural Engineer will act as an owner's representative for all structural engineering project requirements, support capital, wellfield, and management of change projects at various stages including conceptual and feasibility studies, detailed engineering, execution and operational turnover. The scope of work includes managing project scope, engineering design, vendor coordination, and package management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform structural engineering design for industrial and mining-related projects.
- Design steel and wood framing systems, and reinforced concrete structures.
- Apply knowledge of relevant building codes and standards (e.g., NBCC, NFCC, CSA S16, CSA A23.3, A23.4, CSA N393).
- Conduct structural analysis using STAAD.Pro and prepare design calculations using Mathcad and Excel-based tools.
- Collaborate with designers and drafters to develop 3D models and 2D construction drawings.
- Prepare and revise technical specifications, scopes of work, bills of materials (BOMs), material take-offs (MTOs), and construction work packages (CWPs).
- Seal and sign off on technical documentation including drawings, specifications, and calculations.
- Support the development and review of construction documentation and ensure design deliverables align with project requirements.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a P. Eng Designation.
- Proven experience in structural engineering, ideally within mining, milling, or industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulation,s including NBCC, NFCC, CSA S16, CSA A23.3/A23.4, CSA N393, and Saskatchewan Mines Regulations.
- Proficient with STAAD.Pro for structural analysis and Mathcad/Excel for design calculations.
- Familiar with 3D model viewers such as Navisworks, Jetstream, or Point Cloud software.
- Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel intermittently to northern Saskatchewan and/or Ontario project sites via aircraft.
- Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and enthusiastic approach to project work.
