About the Role
Recreation NB | Loisirs N.-B., in partnership with the Canadian Fitness and Lifestyle Research Institute (CFLRI) and the Active Living Alliance for Canadians with a Disability (ALACD), is seeking a dynamic and bilingual Social Media and Communications Coordinator for a full-time, one-year term position.
While the position is in-person and housed at the Recreation NB | Loisirs N.-B office in Fredericton, NB, the successful candidate will also support the communication efforts of CFLRI and ALACD, working remotely with each organization's team. This is an exciting opportunity for a communications professional with a passion for promoting healthy living, inclusion, and physical activity through engaging digital content.
Key Responsibilities
- Communications Strategy Development, Content Creation & Management
- Contribute to the development and refinement of communications strategies for each partner organization, aligning messaging with strategic goals and target audiences
- Develop and schedule social media content across multiple platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Blue Sky and TikTok) for three national/provincial non-profits
- Work with each organization to create relevant and accessible messaging aligned with their brand guidelines
- Write, edit, and post engaging content including graphics, stories, campaigns, and short videos
- Monitor analytics and provide regular reporting and insights
Coordination & Planning
- Coordinate a shared social media calendar across all three organizations
- Participate in regular meetings with each team to review priorities and timelines (
- Respond to inquiries and messages across social channels in a professional and timely manner
- Support communication initiatives such as newsletters, blog posts, web updates, and campaigns
Internal Support
- Work closely with the Recreation NB | Loisirs N.-B. team on content development and marketing, supporting staff capacity by coordinating communications
- Maintain files, communications assets, and documentation according to Recreation NB | Loisirs N.-B. policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
- Fluently bilingual in English and French (written and spoken)
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, or Marketing (or related field)
- Experience creating and managing content for multiple social media platforms
- Strong filming, writing, editing, and digital storytelling skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Assets
- Degree or coursework in Kinesiology or Recreation is considered an asset
- Understanding of accessibility in communications and interest in promoting inclusive messaging
- Interest in or experience with recreation, sport, parks, trails, and active living
Working Conditions
- Four-day workweek (Monday-Thursday), with some flexibility required
- Workstation and equipment provided
