Sanitation Supervisor

Scotian Gold is currently looking for a Sanitation Supervisor. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the successful candidate would be hands on working alongside a team of two Industrial Cleaners. This is a position requiring initiative, leadership and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate would have a strong ability to adapt to changing priorities to ensure the department runs efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and direct supervision over unionized industrial cleaners
• Manage the sanitation schedule to achieve the plants food safety objectives
• Implement/monitor sanitation standard operating procedures for pack house equipment and facility
• Ensure employee safety and compliance to the Occupational Health & Safety Act
• Assist in training, coaching and developing employees to ensure performance standards are being met
• Ensure compliance to sanitation health/hygiene, food safety and site security programs

Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

• Exceptional multitasking and organization skills
• A strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
• Excellent people and communication skills, oral and written
• Ability to work independently in plant environment with minimal supervision
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software preferable
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a common-sense approach
• 3 to 5 years years' experience working in the food industry, preferably as a Sanitation Supervisor
• Science based Community College or University studies preferred
• Ability to work nights 4:30 pm to 2:30 am
