Position: Retail Assistant Manager

Location: The Hospice Shoppe - 77 Catherwood Street, Saint John

Classification: Full-Time; 37.5 hours/week; some evenings and weekends

Term: Permanent

Wage: $19.59/Hour

About Us:

The Hospice Shoppe is an upscale, second-hand boutique that sells donated clothing and household items. Located in West Saint John, we are a social enterprise generating proceeds to help fund care at Bobby's Hospice. Each year, Bobby's Hospice provides in-patient palliative care and grief support to hundreds of individuals living in the Greater Saint John community.

Description:

Supporting our Shoppe Managers, the Assistant Manager will play an active role in leading a successful sales force. Comprised of both staff and volunteers, the Assistant Manager will be key in motivating, supervising, and leading the Hospice Shoppe team. The role also requires inventory management, assisting with the design and lay-out of in-shoppe displays and attention to maintaining a clean and safe environment. The successful candidate will be expected to take on some opening and closing duties, assist in culling and pricing merchandise and be proficient at providing exceptional customer service.

Qualifications:

· High School Education; Post-Secondary considered an asset;

· Experience in a customer service setting; preferably in retail;

· Exceptional communication skills both written and oral;

· Experience in a leadership role considered an asset;

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment;

· Able to stand for extended periods of time, bend, lift and carry;

· A keen eye and a willingness to learn

· Basic computer literacy required; social media/marketing knowledge considered an asset;

· Able to provide a clean Police and Vulnerable Sector Check
