The Opportunity

Clearwater Seafoods is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team at our seafood processing facility in Lockeport, Nova Scotia. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, plant efficiency, and safe operations through preventative and corrective maintenance activities.

What You'll Do

• Perform preventative, scheduled, and emergency maintenance on plant equipment
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain processing, packaging, and material handling equipment
• Repair and maintain hydraulic systems, forklifts (electric and propane/gas), and other production equipment
• Install, modify, adjust, dismantle, and replace equipment components as required
• Conduct equipment inspections and recommend repairs, replacements, or improvements
• Complete maintenance documentation, inspections, and work orders
• Support ongoing plant operations by responding to maintenance requests and breakdowns
• Maintain a safe work environment and follow all company safety procedures
• Perform general maintenance duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• 1-3 years of maintenance, mechanical, industrial, plant, or related experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools
• Experience troubleshooting equipment or a strong interest in developing these skills
• Ability to read and follow technical manuals, work instructions, and maintenance procedures
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic computer skills for maintenance records and work orders
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety

Assets

• Experience with electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems
• Welding or fabrication experience
• Technical training, trade certification, apprenticeship experience, or vocational education
• Experience in a manufacturing or food processing environment
