The Municipal Assessment Agency provides municipalities with real property values (or assessments) in accordance with the terms and conditions of the province's Assessment Act, 2006. We are responsible for providing a fair and effective property assessment service to more than 235 municipalities within Newfoundland & Labrador.

Location: Any Regional Office (St. John's, Gander, Corner Brook)

The Role

The Corporate Services Division is seeking a GIS Technician to provide technical support for the integration of geographic information systems within the Agency's workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to individuals and teams on processes and procedures related to utilizing GIS solutions
  • Query, extract and decipher information in order to complete geospatial analysis
  • Create, edit and manage spatial features using ArcGIS software
  • Display spatial information as required for different audiences
  • Review and inspect real property data using aerial imagery and update files as required
  • Participate in GIS/Aerial Imagery projects and provide support within a team

Screening Criteria:

  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field such as Geographic Information Systems, Engineering Technology or Geography
  • Experience with GIS software and database management systems
  • Experience with a range of GIS tools for spatial and temporal analysis
  • Experience with SQL Developer (asset)

Salary: CG 30 ($51,615.20 - $57,330.00 annually) as per NAPE Collective Agreement
