Position Overview
Our growing accounting and tax firm is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing year-end accounting processes, preparing corporate and personal tax returns, and overseeing bookkeeping activities for our diverse client base. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review year-end financial statements for small businesses and individual clients.
- Complete corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with CRA tax regulations.
- Prepare personal income tax returns, including supporting schedules and documentation.
- Provide comprehensive bookkeeping services, including maintaining general ledgers, reconciling accounts, and processing monthly/quarterly financial reports.
- Advise clients on tax planning strategies and assist with tax projections throughout the year.
- Respond to client inquiries regarding accounting and tax matters in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist with CRA notices or audits as needed.
- Stay current with changes in tax laws and accounting standards relevant to small businesses and individuals.
Qualifications
- Active CPA license required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax preparation and bookkeeping.
- Strong knowledge of corporate and individual tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Sage, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency in tax software software, Profile. DT Max
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working with small business clients preferred.
