Join Our Caring Team as a Continuing Care Assistant

Location: Berwick, Nova Scotia
Department: Nursing
Reports to: Nurse Manager
Shifts: Varied (8s and 12s) | Every 2nd weekend | Based on operational need

Pay Rates

  • CCANOC (No certificate): $19.34 - $20.22/hr
  • CCA: $22.23 - $24.10/hr
  • Plus: Shift premiums for evenings and weekends
  • Good News: Wages are expected to increase within the year-with retroactive pay

What You'll Do

As a Continuing Care Assistant, you'll play a vital role in providing person centered, respectful, and dignified care that supports each resident's physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Assisting residents with daily living activities while promoting independence
  • Offering comfort, companionship, and emotional support
  • Observing and reporting changes in residents' conditions
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and home-like environment
  • Collaborating with nurses, families, and other departments
  • Keeping accurate documentation and updating care plans
  • Mentoring new staff or CCA students when needed

What We're Looking For

  • Graduate of a recognized Continuing Care Assistant program (or equivalent)
  • A kind, compassionate, and dependable caregiver
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Physically able to meet the demands of the role
  • Willing to work a variety of shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays)
