ABOUT ALDERWOOD:

Alderwood cares for 70 residents across Nursing Home and Residential Care. Our home is divided into six distinct home areas; five Nursing Home (11-12 residents each) and one Residential Care (11 residents). All residents have private rooms and bathrooms to ensure their comfort and dignity, and Alderwood Home Areas are designed to create a genuine sense of belonging for our residents.

Purpose:

Provide scheduling for all departments under the direction of the Director of Resident Care and Director of Support Services. All tasks are to be approached in a spirit of teamwork, within and among departments, to ensure cooperation and completion in an efficient manner. As with every role, the underlying responsibility is the care and safety of each resident. Incumbents of the position are to work under the direction of the Policies and Procedures of Alderwood.

Job Summary:

Prepare work schedule for employees in all departments, full and part - time, using Staff Schedule Care (SCC) and following established criteria for scheduling. Ensure schedule is prepared as per collective agreement. Communicate with employees regarding work schedules, availability etc.

Assist with payroll records, if needed.

Provide support to all the departments.

Take specimens to lab, as required.

Maintain Kardex information on all Resident birthdates.

Prepare charts for new Resident admissions.

Replenish chart monthly.

Restock clerical supplies, forms, documentation supplies in each Household.

File all Resident discharged charts.

REQUIREMENTS:

Prior experience with computer applications and demonstrated ability to learn new applications.

Demonstrated ability to utilize complex computer software, and support colleagues with same.

Demonstrated ability to appropriately manage workload, and challenging situations.

Proven professional conduct and ability to work with all departments.

Proven confidentiality and professional conduct. In recognition of the nature of the role, and acknowledgement that this role often provides access to information not otherwise provided to staff; demonstrated confidentiality, and professional management of this information is a requirement.

Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.

Satisfactory attendance record.

Open availability to fulfill the schedule of the part-time role, as well as additional shifts as needed to supplement schedule.

Adheres to roles and responsibilities as outlined in the position outline.

Maintain good personal physical and mental health, including physical activity to ensure willingness and capacity to meet physical demands of position, including the ability to stand for long periods, and perform a significant amount of walking/movement throughout the building.
