Modern Construction, a subsidiary of the VINCI Group, was founded in 1945 and employs 160 people and operates across a range of activities, including construction and paving, asphalt production through a fixed plant, sale of aggregates with two operational quarries, trucking services and is an explosives distributor.

Modern Construction, located on the outskirts of Moncton, NB is currently looking for a financial controller. Reporting to the CFO, you will be tasked with preparing and reporting the financial data in compliance with the Group's fundamentals as well as accounting and management rules, all while meeting pre-determined deadlines.

Your main responsibilities will be as follows:

· Prepare monthly financial reports for management while analyzing and commenting on project and activity results in comparison to forecasts and operating budget.

· Prepare quarterly budgets for each center of operations with input from the management team.

· Ensure accurate and timely recording of revenues, expenses, accruals, and adjustments.

· Anticipate financial risks and proactively report budget overruns to decision-makers

· Ensure compliance with accounting standards and applicable tax and regulatory requirements.

· Prepare and coordinate year-end audit/review activities with external accountants and auditors.

· Oversee accounts receivable collections and monitor customer accounts.

· Oversee accounts payable to ensure invoices are properly approved, coded, and paid according to terms.

· Provide overall oversight of the payroll process, ensuring payroll is accurate and processed on time.

· Monitor cash position and forecast future cash requirements.

· Supervise and provide direction to the accounting staff.

· Support management with special projects and financial analysis as required.

· Assist with implementation and transition to new accounting systems (SAP).

Our ideal candidate is:

· An experienced professional with university studies in accounting (Bachelor's degree), finance or any other related field. A CPA designation would be considered an asset.

· 5+ years of similar experience in the accounting field.

· Bilingual (French and English).

· You must have a strong working knowledge of excel.

· Experience with SAP would be an advantage.

· Strong budgeting and forecasting skills, along with financial analysis.

· Have advisory skills and communication abilities that will enable you to support operational teams in achieving their budgetary objectives along with supporting your accounting team with their roles.
