Our family health practice located in Moncton, NB, is offering an opportunity for a dedicated Clinical Office Assistant to join our growing team on a full-time, permanent basis. Key Responsibilities, as required/applicable:

The Clinical Office Assistant serves as a clinically oriented support role and acts as an important link between patients, providers, and the clinic team. Key responsibilities within this role include (but are not limited to):

  • Welcomes patients, escorts them to examination rooms, and prepares them to see the clinical team.
  • Obtains and accurately records vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and weight) within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Performs accurate medication reconciliations, updates allergy documentation, and ensures patient charts are up to date.
  • Prepares examination rooms between patients to ensure they remain fully stocked, clean, and welcoming.
  • Coordinates incoming diagnostic test results and laboratory reports for clinician review.
  • Utilizes clinical knowledge to identify urgent patient needs and escalates to other members of the clinical team, as needed.
  • Coordinates patient flow efficiently to minimize wait times and ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the family practice.

Experience/Education required:

  • A diploma or equivalent work experience in Medical Office Administration or as a Personal Support Worker (PSW); or a Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) designation.
  • Solid understanding of medical terminology is required.
  • Proven experience in accurately obtaining vitals, performing medication reconciliation, and recognizing signs that require clinical escalation.
  • Previous experience in primary care or community health is considered an asset.
  • Experience using an electronic medical record software (EMR) is an asset.
  • Basic CPR certification.
  • General knowledge of the New Brunswick medical system is an asset.

  • Strong computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

  • Due to daily operational needs, proficiency in English and French are required.

Working Conditions & Location:

  • The Clinical Office Assistant position requires availability to work 8 hours daily from Monday to Friday. This schedule excludes weekends, and statutory holidays.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to primarily work on-site. Occasional remote work may be available based on staffing and operational needs. Candidates must be able to work on-site full-time if required.
  • The clinic is building a growing interdisciplinary team that includes two (2) primary care physicians, a Registered Nurse (RN), and administrative support staff members.
  • The clinic is located at 120 Morton Avenue, Moncton NB.

Compensation:

We offer a competitive compensation package within the range of $30-$35 per hour. Placement within the range will be determined based on the successful candidate's experience, education, and relevant skills.

Specific start date will be determined with the successful candidate.
