Reporting to the Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, the Senior Director, Finance & Technology, is a critical leadership role responsible for the organization's financial strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, fiscal resilience, and technological modernization of the organization. The Senior Director serves as a key functional leader, translating strategic organizational goals into strong operational practices. They must drive strong financial stewardship, accountability, planning and rigor across the organization.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Oversight of core financial operations (e.g., operating budget, audit) and strategic decision-making based on financial analysis and forecasting.
- Building analytical models to evaluate the financial viability of new social infrastructure projects, property management operations, housing strategies, and capital campaigns.
- Developing and executing an IT strategy designed to modernize infrastructure, enhance cybersecurity defences, and support an agile, hybrid workplace with locations across the Maritimes.
- Overseeing organizational enterprise structure, steering the integration, maintenance, and data sync among specialized platforms (e.g., ERP, CRM, payroll, etc.).
- Developing and leading a high-performing finance, technology, and data team while ensuring alignment between operational execution and medium-term strategy.
Our ideal candidate is a performance-driven, people-centered CPA with 10+ years of progressive management experience as a controller, finance director, or equivalent leadership roles. Strategic and change resilient, they are an analytical thinker with a proven ability to distill complex financial and technical information into clear, actionable insights for diverse stakeholders. With experience in accounting and IT best practices and openness to working through complex and innovative financing models for social infrastructure projects, the ideal candidate is someone excited to identify strong finance and technology solutions to advance United Way Maritime's mission in community.
United Way Maritimes is committed to a comprehensive compensation package including salary, group retirement savings plan contribution, health and dental benefits, generous vacation time, additional time-off during the December holiday period, and professional development and training opportunities. The salary range for this position is $110,000-125,000.
