The Department of Health is seeking an individual to join the Pharmaceutical Services Branch as a Senior Program Analyst in the Fredericton Central Office.
As the Senior Program Analyst, you will:
- Obtain greater value for publicly funded drug plans by leading, participating in, and supporting negotiations and work related to the pan-Canadian Pharmaceutical Alliance;
- Support policy/program development by providing information, performance analysis, and cost trends to senior management on Branch programs, including NB's public drug plans;
- Support the development of performance indicators associated with public drug plans by participating in environmental scanning initiatives, research, and analysis;
- Provide ongoing monitoring and tracking of Product Listing Agreements;
- Develop and manage contracts.

You are recognized for your attention to detail, organization skills and ability to prioritize deliverables. You are a creative problem solver and avid multitasker. You are an effective communicator, adept at presenting detailed factual and conceptual information on issues that require explanation and interpretation. You are comfortable and effective working with executives, external stakeholders, clients and all levels of the organization.
Essential Qualifications:
- Masters in Economics, Business, Public Administration, or another related field and
- A minimum of five (5) years of related experience, or
- Bachelors in Economics, Business, Public Administration, or another related field and
- A minimum of six (6) years of related experience.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability on your application.

In the event that this competition poses difficulties in recruiting a qualified candidate, a covering off appointment at a lower level may be made. In that case, candidates with less than the required related years of experience may also be considered.
Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates that possess one or more of the following asset qualifications:
- Experience with contract management and negotiation processes.
- Experience with research and program evaluation in the public or health care sector.
- Experience using statistical software.
- Project Management training or experience.
Candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications, in addition to the essential qualifications, in order to be given further consideration.

Salary: $78,546 to $104,494 per annum (Pay Band 6)
