Job Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager of Education and Outreach leads the development, implementation and evaluation of our education initiatives and community outreach programs. This role plays a key part in expanding our impact and deepening relationships in community to support the achievement of the overarching philosophy, policies, and strategic priorities of the ASNB.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Establishing, developing and scaling a new department aligned with organizational and strategic goals
- Develop and manage innovative education programs that align with key initiatives
- Collaborate across departments to integrate education into broader organizational objectives
- Oversees the development, implementation and evaluation of the operational plan
- Design, implement, and evaluate educational programs and outreach initiatives aligned with operational goals
- Ensure programming is accessible, inclusive, and responsive to diverse community needs
- Manage curriculum development, materials, and resources for in-person and/or virtual learning experiences
- Develop outreach strategies to increase program participation and community engagement
- Provide ongoing coaching and support to direct reports, including developing individualized work plans, facilitating professional growth opportunities, and conducting regular performance evaluations and feedback sessions
- Develop and manage budgets for education and outreach initiatives
- Participate in provincial and national activities when requested, including collaboration with Federation Partners, representing New Brunswick on National Working Groups
- Serve as a liaison for the organization at community meetings, conferences, and public forums
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor-level degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
- Experience managing teams, projects, or operational functions
- Prior experience in the nonprofit or charitable sector is preferred
- Community awareness with the ability to build trusting relationships with community partners
- Sensitive to the impact of Alzheimer's disease on the individual and the family
- Must be approachable, have solid communication skills and a warm positive attitude with active listening skills
- Experience working with diverse communities and a commitment to equity and inclusion
- Excellent computer skills with knowledge of MS Office
- Possess a valid NB driver's license and be available to travel within the region
- Ability to work outside regularly scheduled hours as required
- Bilingual in French and English is considered an asset
