We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented experienced cabinet maker/millworker to join our team in producing high-quality commercial casework and architectural millwork. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in custom woodworking, the ability to interpret complex shop drawings, and a strong understanding of efficient, high-end production techniques. This is a hands-on role for a seasoned professional who takes pride in craftsmanship, precision, and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and execute from detailed blueprints, architectural drawings, and shop plans with minimal supervision.
  • Fabricate and assemble a wide range of custom commercial cabinetry, millwork components, and fixtures to exact specifications.
  • Operate and maintain large-scale woodworking machinery (sliding table saws, CNCs, edge banders, wide belt sanders) as well as a full range of hand tools with a high level of proficiency.
  • Select, measure, and process materials for efficient workflow, minimizing waste and ensuring optimal material yield.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to resolve build or design challenges.
  • Lead or assist in on-site installations, ensuring precision fit and finish, secure fastening, and alignment to layout.
  • Apply finishing touches including lamination, veneer work, edge treatments, and hardware installation.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace and contribute to the upkeep of tools and equipment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in custom cabinetmaking or commercial millwork fabrication (shop and/or install).
  • Demonstrated ability to work from complex shop drawings and architectural documents.
  • Deep familiarity with woodworking materials, joinery methods, and modern fabrication processes.
  • Skilled in operating both manual and automated machinery.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high standard for craftsmanship and finish.
  • Capable of leading junior team members or apprentices when needed.
  • Able to lift and maneuver heavy components (up to 20kg+ with mechanical or team assistance).
  • Steel-toe safety boots required; WHMIS/forklift/scissor lift tickets are assets.
