The New Brunswick Housing Corporation is seeking individuals to join the Tenant and Landlord Relations Office, as a Residential Tenancies Officer.
Reporting to the Managing Residential Tenancies Officer, the Residential Tenancies Officer is responsible for administering the Residential Tenancies Act and its regulations. Key responsibilities of this position are:
- Performing investigations, fostering mediation and resolution of disputes
- Identifying strategies to increase awareness of and compliance with the Residential Tenancies Act
- Conducting evidentiary hearings
- Rendering written detailed decisions
- Developing relationships and partnerships with strategic public and private stakeholders
- Preparing court packages for prosecutions under the Residential Tenancies Act
- Providing court testimony
- Supporting the implementation of the Residential Tenancies program and performing other related duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree with a minimum of four years of experience in a related field. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English AND French is required for some vacancies while other vacancies require written and spoken competence in English only. Please state your language capability.
Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate:
- Experience in dispute resolution
- Experience performing investigations
- Experience in the interpretation of legislation, regulations and policies
- Experience with the Residential Tenancies Act
Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The following operational requirement(s) is also required:
- This position requires some travelling within the province.
- Some weekday evening and weekend work hours may also be required.
- Candidates will be required to undergo Criminal History Clearance prior to appointment.

Salary: $57,616 - $80,574 per annum
