The Board of Directors for Family and Early Childhood Anglophone East Inc. is looking for a new Executive Director to replace the current Director who is retiring from the organization.

The Board is seeking a passionate and experienced individual to lead the organization in delivering high-quality programs that support at-risk children ages 0 to 8 and their families. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood development, nonprofit management and community engagement. This role requires a visionary leader who can inspire staff, collaborate with community partners, and advocate for the needs of children and families.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Program Development
    • Oversee the design, implementation and evaluation of programs and services
    • Ensure the programs are aligned with provincial guidelines and best practices for early childhood development
  • Leadership and Staff Development
    • Lead, mentor and support a team of professionals
    • Foster a positive organizational culture
    • Encourage collaboration, innovation and professional growth
  • Community Engagement
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, stakeholders and families
    • Represent the organization at community events and advocate for the needs of at-risk children and their families
  • Resource Development
    • Identify grant opportunities
  • Financial Oversight
    • Manage program budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources and compliance with funding requirements
    • Monitor program outcomes and prepare reports for the Board of Directors
    • Ensure risk management policies and procedures are current
    • Work with a Board of Directors as employer
  • Advocacy and Policy Development
    • Stay informed about local, provincial and national policies affecting children and families
    • Advocate for policies that support the well-being of at-risk populations

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree or Undergraduate Degree in early childhood education, social work, public administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in nonprofit management, program development, or related field with an early childhood services background
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by at-risk children and their families and best practices in early childhood development
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of professionals
  • Excellent communication skills
