The Department of Social Development is seeking a qualified candidate to join the Finance and Administration Branch as a Receptionist in Central Office in Fredericton.

As a member of the Finance and Administration Branch as a Receptionist, you will be responsible to provide a variety of administrative support services to the general public and all levels of staff within the office.

The successful candidate may be responsible for the following:

  • Receiving and responding to a wide range of routine telephone inquiries and walk-in clients;
  • Evaluating inquiries;
  • Providing general information, directing clients, and/or the general public to the appropriate employee or resource;
  • Photocopying and fax services, data entry, records management and mail outs
  • Processing incoming and outgoing mail,
  • Performing other related duties as required. (i.e., coordination of building access and parking permits).

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED supplemented by successful completion of one (1) year post-secondary program in office technology, secretarial field or other post-secondary education in a related field and a minimum of three (3) years of related work experience. Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office Suite is required. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate experience in one or more of the following asset qualifications:

  • One (1) year experience in an office environment.
  • Experience working with the general public
  • Experience working with confidential information; and/or
  • Experience with conflict resolution.
