We are located on the scenic coast of Glace Bay, just 20 minutes from Sydney. Role Summary
The LPN plays an autonomous and supportive coordination role in a Collaborative Care Model providing holistic, resident focused care to meet the defined needs of individuals and families. The LPN develops therapeutic and professional relationships with Residents and members of the Health Care Team respectively for providing safe, effective, and ethical care to a defined group of residents with stable and predictable outcomes.
The LPN utilizes foundational nursing knowledge, evidence, critical thinking, and judgment to provide safe, competent, compassionate, ethical nursing care on both an independent and collaborative basis respecting the LPN scope of practice.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of LPN program
- Registered and in good standing with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses
- Evidence of good attendance and job stability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience in long term care setting would be an asset but not required
Performance Requirements
- Fit to perform full duties.
- Must be a team player collaborating with other members of the Resident Care team.
- As a member of the team, LPN must apply practical nursing theory in the assessment and evaluation of residents. Must exhibit leadership qualities and work with minimal supervision.
- Required to perform all tours of duty.
