Are you a Registered Nurse looking for an exciting career opportunity?
If you are, we are looking for skilled nurse managers to join our team of innovators to help us usher in several exciting initiatives in our 73 bed long term care facility. Part time and full time employment is available. A range of opportunities exist between 36 Hours and 72 Hours bi-weekly.
We are located in Pugwash, NS on the shores of the Northumberland Strait in an idyllic, pastoral setting. We are moving forward with several challenging projects to enhance care and improve the lives of our Residents and Families.
We are strategically adopting an increasingly progressive approach to long term care and would love to talk to you about joining our team. We are seeking the best team we can find to help us implement science-based, best practice, changes in every facet of care.
We are working towards state of the art enhancements in providing the best care possible for our population. We are making advancements in caring for clients with Alzheimer’s & related dementias, managing challenging behaviours, palliative care, reducing polypharmacy and an amazing new recreation opportunity that Residents, Families and Staff alike can participate in. We have acquired a license for a virtual reality system tailored specifically for the needs of the elderly with an array of programs, activities and content to engage our clients in experiences and activities that they could not access or enjoy otherwise.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/TRAINING
- Licensed Registered Nurse with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia or eligible to become licensed with the CRNNS.
- Completion of the NS Provincial Alzheimer’s Course or successful completion when course next available. Valid CPR/First Aid Certificate.
- Experience in the Resident Care Department of this facility preferred.
- Must be willing to assist residents with daily activities.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check required.
