NBCC is currently seeking a dynamic and competent leader for the position of Community College Instructor. Our College is committed to transforming lives and communities. Reporting to the Department Head, and as a member of the faculty team, you are responsible for planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.

Specific instructional areas and courses within the program may include, but are not limited to: Microprocessors, Micro-controllers with related Computer Programming, Mathematics, Physics; and other related subjects.  The successful incumbent will be willing and able to integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practices.  Background in Biomedical Electronics or Telecommunications would be considered an asset. 

Required qualifications for this opportunity include: a diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology and a minimum of five (5) years of recent and related work experience with P.Tech OR a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of three (3) years of recent and related work experience with P.Eng.  Candidates must be registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) or Professional Technologist (PTech).  Consideration will be given to candidates in the process of obtaining professional status. 

Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

Preference may be given to candidates who have experience teaching in a post-secondary environment.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a base salary range for from $1,692 to $2,685 bi-weekly. Successful candidates may be eligible for a higher maximum step, up to $2,932 bi-weekly, based on their level of post-secondary education. This position is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees collective agreement (Education – Instructional Group) for the College.
