The Agronomy Company of Canada operates 19 franchised joint-venture and 1 wholly owned retail locations in Ontario and the Maritimes (4) selling agricultural crop input products.  Agronomy continues to experience strong growth and is the industry leader in Eastern Canada. 

Job Description:

The position of a Field Accountant within the Agronomy Company of Canada is required immediately.

Reporting to the Manager, JV Accounting and Financial Services, the applicant should be a designated Accountant (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) or in the final stages of completion;

The potential candidate will be responsible for providing monthly, interim and year-end financial statements to the board of directors to four or five joint-ventures.  This will involve overseeing and assisting the bookkeeping staff at the joint-venture locations;

Prepare and analyze future capital expenditures/plans for board approval, prepare annual operating budgets and generally assist the joint-venture manager in all accounting and management reporting matters;

Assist in the implementation of Navision, the new enterprise software, at their respective joint-ventures, including designing appropriate procedures where necessary to ensure consistent and accurate accounting results are achieved.  Provide ongoing support once Navision is installed including training staff and answering any questions that staff may have with respect to the operations and accuracy of the system;

Prepare draft corporate income tax returns for the joint-ventures and be involved in any income tax assessments or reassessments with CRA;

Requirements:

Must have a University degree in Bachelor of Commerce or Finance and be a designated accountant (CPA CA, CMA, CGA), or in the final stages of completion with 3+ years of relevant accounting experience;

Strong organizational and prioritizing skills and ability to meet many deadlines.

Position is based out of a home office (preferably in the Moncton or Fredericton area), requires travel to Grand Falls, NB, Hartland NB, Truro, NS and Summerside, PEI, a company vehicle is provided.
