NBCC is currently seeking a dynamic and energetic individual with excellent communication and public speaking skills for the position of Recruitment Advisor. Reporting to the Provincial Recruitment Coordinator, as a member of the Student Development team, you are responsible for implementing the provincial recruitment and enrolment plans at the campus level which will include recruitment strategies for high school, mature, Aboriginal and international students. In carrying out these responsibilities you will be required to make presentations and conduct workshops on all NBCC programs to highlight the benefits of education at NBCC. This will be accomplished via large and small classroom presentations, individual appointments and participation in education and job fairs.
The above-mentioned responsibilities also include but are not limited to; providing pre-admission advising on an appointment and drop-in basis, planning, directing and administering on-campus events (e.g. Open House, Student for a Day, College Preview Day, campus tours, etc.), responding to inquiries from prospective students and the general public regarding programs, admission requirements, and other college information in person, via phone, email, social media, etc., liaising with the campus community to ensure staff are well informed of recruitment activities and are given the opportunity to participate.
As a valued member of our team, you will work within a community of leaders to create rewarding and successful student experiences; developing excellent relationships with potential students, high school guidance counsellors, teachers, parents, and other key influencers, community partners, and stakeholders.
Required qualifications for this opportunity include a high school diploma plus a two (2) year post-secondary diploma in a related field with a minimum of six (6) months of recent and related work experience. Applications must demonstrate experience in making presentations to large groups. Strong oral and written communication skills, in English and French, are also essential requirements of this position. A valid driver’s license and ability to travel is required as this position involves considerable travel within the assigned territory, including occasional evenings and weekends. Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.
Preference may be given to candidates with experience recruiting in a post-secondary environment.
Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.
Candidates selected for an interview will be required to make a presentation as part of the interview process.
NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive bi-weekly salary for this position ranging from $1,529 to $2,135.
