Two Term Positions in Computing and Information Systems
The Department of Finance, Information Systems, and Management Science in the Sobey School of Business at Saint Mary’s University is seeking applications for two full-time, 8-month term appointments commencing September 1, 2017. The appointments will be made at the Assistant Professor or Lecturer level depending on experience and qualifications.
Candidates are expected to hold PhDs, or have ABD status, in Information Systems or a closely related field. Candidates with a combination of MA or MS degrees in the above-mentioned field, and professional or teaching experience may be considered. Successful teaching in a university business school environment is also expected. A research stream in Information Systems or a closely related field is an asset.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in Computing and Information Systems. Courses will include Introduction to Computer Applications, along with upper-division courses depending on qualifications and experience. Possible teaching assignments may include Visual Basic, database programming, web information systems, or data analytics. A focus on active learning, student engagement, teaching in a multi-cultural setting, and integrating technologies as part of the learning process is an asset.
