POSITION SUMMARY: The Canadian Center for Vaccinology in Halifax is seeking a Biostatistician to provide all aspects of statistical analysis tasks from study preparation to manuscript review. The Biostatistician reports to the Data Manager and will consult with the Statistical Investigator and fellow Biostatistician on methodology issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide statistical input during design, analysis and reporting phases of clinical and survey studies
  • Formulation of statistical analysis plans
  • Perform advanced statistical analysis and prepare output from statistical analyses for review including reports, graphs, tables and interpretation
  • Contribute to preparation of manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed research journals and presentations for academic and clinical audiences
  • Ensure accuracy of all statistical analyses and interpretation in clinical study reports
  • Attend relevant meetings, courses or workshops as needed
  • Work closely with data manager, project manager, lab manager and statistical analyst to discuss project details, and provide feedback regarding analysis requirements and deadlines
  • Successful management of multiple clinical studies and survey studies from start to finish with little supervision

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in statistics, clinical epidemiology or equivalent is required
  • Experience with SAS® would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of and previous experience using R a definite asset
  • Windows and Microsoft Office experience
  • Familiarity with LINUX operating system
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills – both oral and written – and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and possess strong organizational skills

Status: 37.5 hours/week
Start Date: As soon as possible
Pay Scale: $63,584 - $65,805 annually, commensurate with experience
