Reporting to the Director of Business Development, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for increasing non-regular programming offered at NBCC, through building relationships and sourcing potential new courses/programs for the College’s continuing education and full-tuition program areas. The Business Development Manager has three (3) key areas of responsibility: identifying new, revenue-generating, training development opportunities based on sound market research and analysis; working with internal partners on the development of curriculum; and working with campus leaders on the delivery of continuing education and full tuition-programs. Responsibilities will include networking with business and industry stakeholders to determine skills training needs to better equip employees and the overall workforce in New Brunswick; conducting labour market research and analysis; building effective internal working relationships; monitoring program outcomes and deliverables; delivering presentations for both internal and external audiences; negotiating contract agreements; and coordinating and managing quality program delivery through collaboration with NBCC Regional Operation Managers and Department Heads. The role will involve managing client relations and expectations, recruiting qualified instructors and potential students, and evaluating overall delivery performance.
Required qualifications for this opportunity include a two-year college diploma in business or a related field with a minimum of eight (8) years of recent and related experience including at least one in a supervisory role; or a university degree in business or a related field with a minimum of six (6) years of recent and related experience including at least one year in a supervisory role; or a Master’s degree in business or a related field with a minimum of four (4) years of recent and related experience including at least one in a supervisory role. Travel within the Province will be necessary; therefore, candidates must possess a valid driver’s license. Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.
The successful candidate will demonstrate relationship building, communication and presentation skills, as well as strong initiative, results orientation, and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with a focus on achieving excellence.
Preference may be given to candidates who have demonstrated experience and/or credentials in project or contract management.
Written and spoken competence in English is required.
Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.
NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive salary for this position ranging from $54,314 to 75,842.
