Position: Security Guard - Loyalist College - Belleville - Part-Time
Site: Loyalist College- Belleville - 376 Wallbridge Loyalist Rd
Hours: Saturday, Sunday 0700-1900
Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours
Payrate: $18.54/hour

Start Date: August 9, 2025

Job Description:

  • Greet and interact with staff, students, and visitors politely and professionally
  • Enforce the parking By-Law regulation of Loyalist College.
  • Patrol all parking lot at loyalist college campus twice during the day.
  • Issue parking tickets to vehicles for unauthorized parking, no parking pass, parking in wrong parking lot, Handicap parking spot without proper handicap pass, in car pool without proper clearance , fire route and on grass.
  • By-Law duty are carried out during inclement weather.
  • Record all ticket into data base at the end of your shift and down load all picture.
  • This position reports to the site supervisor and performs independent, self-directed. The position carries a radio for safety and communication and will be required to testify in court.
  • Ensure all staff, visitors, and vendors are following the protocols
  • Provide assistance as necessary to staff and students
  • Assist visitors as necessary with wayfinding as required
  • Proactive, consistent patrols of the campus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with maintaining the utmost professionalism
  • Strong interpersonal skills, flexible, and customer service orientation
  • Remain calm and effectively perform in emergency situations
  • Able to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
  • Report writing and note taking
  • Surveillance monitoring
  • Additional job duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
  2. Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
  3. Proficient in English (both oral and written)
  4. Bilingualism in French and English is considered an asset
  5. 6+ months in customer service
  6. Previous security experience is preferred
  7. Must not be a current Loyalist College student
  8. Must be able to commit to the position for 6 months
  9. Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
    1. Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
    2. Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6 month commitment to the position/availability
