Demands, duties, qualifications
Reporting to the Regional Director of Physical Infrastructure Support through the Team Lead Supervisor, the primary purpose of this position is to provide a wide variety of maintenance tasks for the technical based infrastructure in the Labrador Health Center, Goose Bay, NL.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent;
  • Completion of a Journeyperson level certificate in the Plumbing discipline;
  • Two years experience in public building maintenance preferred;
  • Experience in using a computerized work order system;
  • Valid class V driver's license;
  • The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory Certificate of Conduct.

Duties: (Included but not limited to)

  • Performs a variety of maintenance, repairs, installation and troubleshooting for all mechanical and related systems within the Labrador Health Centre and other sites as required;
  • Works with some independence and may be required to perform complex tasks related to their expertise;
  • Responsible for the storage and assignment of tools and ordering of inventory and required supplies;
  • Responsible for the inventory and control of medical gas within the Labrador Health Centre;
  • Operates hospital vehicle to carry out, pickup and delivery of materials and supplies to work site. May be required to transport and receive dangerous goods to/from the airport;
  • Aligns, adjusts and calibrates equipment according to specifications;
  • Be willing to work overtime as needed;
  • Performs other related duties as required.
