Faculty of Nursing

The Faculty of Nursing has two in-person locations: Fredericton campus, Moncton site and a virtual delivery program in the Miramichi. The Faculty also has a partnership for a nurse-led clinical at the Fredericton Downtown Community Health Centre (FDCHC).

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Dean, The Public Engagement Officer will lead strategic and operational marketing and communication activities aimed at highlighting innovative and impactful outcomes by the Faculty of Nursing in education, research, and clinical practice with identified stakeholder audiences. The Public Engagement Officer will be responsible for all locations/programs.

  • Lead the Academic Plan related to the Marketing priority initiatives.
  • Chair the Faculty of Nursing Marketing Committee. As Chair will provide strategic advice to the committee members on how to effectively operationalize marketing and communication related goals.
  • Collaborate with the UNB Strategic Marketing and Communications departments to ensure all Faculty of Nursing marketing and communications content and assets are in line with UNB Brand policies.
  • Examine and assess Faculty of Nursing stock photos/videos as a foundation for identifying gaps and collaborating with UNB Media Services to capture images that are reflective of Faculty of Nursing programs and the desired vision for the profession.
  • Develop recruitment related print and digital materials including infographics, pamphlets, and banners for distribution via mail/post, in-person events, meetings, email, and digital.
  • Work with faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders to generate content, populate, and maintain Faculty of Nursing blog and social media accounts.
  • Complete a comprehensive scan and update Faculty of Nursing website. Develop and lead the implementation of a sustainable plan for maintaining the website overtime.
  • Work with faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders to identify content and produce the semi-annual Faculty of Nursing Research and Scholarly Impact publication.
  • Collaborate with Associated Alumni Marketing and Communications Office to identify content for nursing segmented alumni newsletter and highlighting the Faculty of Nursing to alumni more broadly.
  • Work with faculty to create individual profiles for public viewing reflective of academic accomplishments and research acumen for potential graduate student supervisory roles.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Post-secondary education in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
  • 3 years of related experience.
  • Excellent writing skills are required with experience writing electronic or print publications.

Additional Strengths

  • Creative, innovative, and strategic thinking, advising and ability to critically assess challenges and opportunities.
  • Experience working with senior executives and/or government an asset.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, organize work independently, fulfill assigned tasks, and meet crucial deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skill and experience planning events in a professional setting.
  • Knowledge of visual media (e.g., photography, use of standard equipment, editing techniques, file formats, publication standard) is an asset.
  • Proficiency in designing for print or digital using relevant software (e.g., InDesign, Acrobat Pro, Photoshop) is an asset.
