As an Intermediate/Senior Civil Designer, you will work in collaboration with the municipal and urban engineering team . As the ideal candidate, you will enjoy working with AutoCAD Civil 3D and be a dedicated resource for a variety of exciting projects across the Atlantic provinces! This position can be located either in our Dartmouth, NS or Fredericton, NB office. When applying, please include what location works best for you.
Your Contribution
  • Prepare and develop the concept, presentation, detailed and tender ready design of various civil engineering projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including corridors and surfaces;
  • Develop construction quantity and cost estimates, complete with required calculations and evaluations;
  • Perform constructability review of projects;
  • Analyze data and report on findings;
  • Maintain and progress with current industry standards;
  • Responsible to advance and understand project requirements related to current development standards, specifications, and guidelines;
  • Maintaining and building client relations;
  • Meet project budget and deadlines;
  • Participate in project and client meetings.

Your Profile
  • Civil Engineer or Civil Technologist with a diploma from an accredited university or college;
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Must be licensed, or eligible for registration with APEGNB or be NBSCETT certified, or eligible in the province of NB;
  • Previous experience performing site inspection of municipal, transportation, and private engineering projects would be an asset;
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and consideration for occupational health and safety;
  • Demonstrated understanding of Hydraulic design is an asset;
  • Experience in site development;
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years relevant experience post-education. A combination of education and experience may be considered;
  • Comfortable in expressing new ideas or strategies;
  • Ability to communicate effectively;
  • Desire to grow and accept challenges;
  • Ability to focus and work on multiple projects;
  • Must be able to work in a team environment to accomplish common goals;
  • Ability to provide mentorship to junior staff;
  • Be motivated by your success and assist in motivating others.
  • The following skills will be considered an asset: Proposal writing, Report writing, and Modelling
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and consideration for occupational health and safety
